Laauli Michael Jones MNZM
Chairperson and founding Trustee
Well known for his exploits on the rugby field, Michael also brings to The Village a wealth of experience within the Tertiary Education and Business sectors. Born and bred in West Auckland, Michael was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Community Services Award in 1991 for
“Services to the Pacific Island Community” and made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1997. Father of two, Michael has a passion for seeing our young people lead extraordinary lives and operates at their full potential

Leota Hulme
Vice Chair
Leota is a New Zealand born, Samoan High Chief and is
one of the founding trustees of The Village. With close to 30 years experience in the
IT sector, Willie serves as a director on a number of technology companies in New
Zealand and USA, as a trustee on a number of community-focused organisations, and
is the father of four teenagers. Willie is a strong advocate for the maintenance of
cultural heritage while pursuing excellence in the cosmopolitan world we live in today.
His passion is the social and economic development of indigenous communities
worldwide with a particular emphasis on youth initiatives. Married with 4 children of
Samoan and Maori decent.

Trevor McLeod
Board Membr
Trevor McLeod has an extensive business background in manufacturing, sales and marketing. He established the Natural Collection Ltd, a successful flooring company of which he is Managing Director. Trevor previously held a position for several years as
life coach/chaplain to the Warriors RL and continues to work as a life coach to
individuals. For over a decade Trevor was on staff of a large city church in an
executive leadership position. Trevor has always enjoyed being part of a vision that encourages people’s personal growth and he has a passion to coach leaders in reaching their desired goals.

Tuigamala Va’aiga Tuigamala MNZM
Board Member
Tuigamala Va’aiga Tuigamala, MNZM is the Director of Tuigamala and Sons Funeral
Directors Ltd, and is a well respected leader in the Pasifika community of New
Zealand having served his country in rugby as an All Black but also representing
Samoa in Rugby and Rugby League. As a local “Westie” raised and still living in the
West, Inga has contributed selflessly to youth and community work over many years.
As a successful businessman and former professional athlete, success for Pasifika
People and his fellow New Zealanders is Inga’s driving passion. Married with 4
children of mix Samoan and Tongan decent.
